FTIR Spectroscopic Studies on Strobilanthes Ciliatus Nees (Bremek)

Authors(2) :-Vandana P Nair, Parvathy A J

The present investigation was aimed to analyse the functional groups present in methanol extract of leaves of Strobilanthes ciliatus Nees (Bremek) through Fourier Transform Infra-red Spectroscopy (FTIR). The FTIR spectroscopic studies revealed different characteristic peak values with various functional groups such as Aryl alkyl ethers, sulfate, alkane, silane, amines, carboxylic acid, alkyne, amides, ketone, lactans, and aldehyde. The FTIR method was performed on a spectrophotometer system, which is used to detect the peak values and their functional compounds.
