Legal Implications and Challenges of Digital Transformation in Accounting
Authors(2) :-Dr. Pulkit Agarwal, Girdhar Dwivedi
With a focus on emerging technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, this article examines the effects of digital transformation in the accounting industry. The study looks into the potential and challenges those digital innovations—like automation, data protection, and real-time reporting—present for financial professionals. The results show that although digital transformation adds new challenges, it also increases the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting, which makes it essential for accounting's next generation. This is why the digital transformation of the accounting profession depends on adherence to data protection regulations like GDPR, data management and governance, and legal issues of data security pertaining to financial data, among others. However, we've discovered possible organizational reluctance to change, problems integrating new technology with outdated legacy systems, and a skills gap brought on by a lack of knowledge.
